Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Ascent mobile application (“App”) operated by Waypoint Labs (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Description of Service
Ascent is a debt payoff tracking and planning application that allows you to:
- Track debts, balances, and payment history
- Calculate and compare debt payoff strategies
- Set payment reminders and receive notifications
- Share debt information with a partner through PartnerSync
- Export debt reports and summaries
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Account and Data
No Waypoint Account Required
Ascent does not require you to create an account with Waypoint Labs. The App uses your Apple ID and iCloud account for data storage and synchronization.
Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Apple ID and device
- The accuracy of information you enter into the App
- All activity that occurs through your use of the App
- Backing up your data as you see fit
Data Storage
Your financial data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit service. Waypoint Labs does not have access to your financial data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Prices are in USD and may vary by region. Actual prices are displayed in the App at time of purchase.
Free Trial
New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial of Premium. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and may be limited to one trial per Apple ID.
Payment Processing, Auto-Renewal & Cancellation
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Waypoint Labs does not collect, store, or process your payment information.
Monthly and Annual subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through iOS Settings (Apple ID, then Subscriptions) or through the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period.
Refunds & Price Changes
Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through their App Store support. Waypoint Labs cannot process refunds directly.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Price changes will not affect active subscriptions until renewal. You will be notified of price changes before they take effect.
PartnerSync
Description & Requirements
PartnerSync allows two users to share debt information and track progress together. Both users must have active Premium subscriptions and iCloud enabled. Sharing is initiated through Apple's CloudKit sharing system.
Your Responsibilities
When using PartnerSync, you are responsible for inviting only individuals you trust, you acknowledge that your partner will see shared debt information, you can leave PartnerSync at any time, and you understand that leaving creates a snapshot of shared data.
Termination of PartnerSync
Either partner may leave or end PartnerSync at any time. The share owner can end sharing for both partners. When PartnerSync ends, each partner retains a snapshot of shared data, no further synchronization occurs, and private debts remain unaffected.
No Liability for Partner Actions
Waypoint Labs is not responsible for actions taken by your partner within the App, disputes between partners, misuse of shared information by your partner, or relationship issues arising from shared debt visibility.
Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Circumvent any security features or access restrictions
- Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Transmit viruses or malicious code
- Interfere with the operation of the App or Apple's services
- Use automated systems to access the App
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Violate Apple's App Store terms or iCloud terms
Intellectual Property
Our Property
The App, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Waypoint Labs and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Your Data
You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into the App. By using the App, you grant us no rights to your financial data beyond what is necessary to provide the service (which, given our architecture, is essentially nothing — your data stays on your device and in your iCloud).
Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App, you grant us the right to use such feedback without obligation to you.

Not Financial Advice
THE APP DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL ADVICE. The debt payoff strategies, calculations, recommendations, and projections provided by the App are for informational and planning purposes only. They do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or credit counseling.
You should consult with qualified financial professionals before making financial decisions. Your financial situation is unique, and the App cannot account for all factors relevant to your circumstances.
Accuracy of Calculations
While we strive for accuracy, the calculations and projections in the App are based on the information you provide, assume consistent future payments and interest rates, may not account for fees, penalties, or rate changes, and are estimates and not guarantees.
“As Is” Service
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services including Apple iCloud, Apple CloudKit, and RevenueCat. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of these third-party services.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WAYPOINT LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, SERVICE INTERRUPTION OR COMPUTER DAMAGE, COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, OR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION ARE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THESE TERMS AND THAT WE WOULD NOT PROVIDE THE APP WITHOUT THESE LIMITATIONS.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Waypoint Labs and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any rights of another party, or any dispute between you and a PartnerSync partner.
Termination
By You
You may stop using the App at any time. To fully terminate: cancel any active subscription, delete your data through Settings, and delete the App from your device.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons may include violation of these Terms, fraudulent or illegal activity, extended periods of inactivity, or discontinuation of the App.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your license to use the App ends, you remain responsible for any outstanding obligations, and provisions that by their nature should survive will survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification).
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@waypointlabs.io. We will try to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
Class Action Waiver
YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the App, email (if you have provided one for support), and this page (updated “Last Updated” date). Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement — These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Waypoint Labs regarding the App.
- Severability — If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
- No Waiver — Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment — You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

Apple-Specific Terms
As required by Apple:
- These Terms are between you and Waypoint Labs, not Apple. Waypoint Labs is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, regulatory compliance, or intellectual property infringement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
